Is it possible that the people who pulled the Pigeon Drop on Caroline Stevens (which we wrote about here back in March) have been pinched? This story occured pretty close to that one. But then again, all Pigeon Drops sound alike ("...three people approached her outside the James Island Wal-Mart and promised her $75,000 in exchange for $8,000..."), and the marks are often cut from the same naive and hypocritical cloth.
