Headline of the week: "Conmen not my agents, show promoter Pinky warns actors." (Her agents are two other conmen.) Pinky Mothie, a South African Bollywood producer preparing for her upcoming film Bollywood College (shooting in Mumbai) learned that several actors had been approached by con men claiming that Mothie had cast them in the new film and needed money to confirm travel and stay in India. Pinky is now developing this true story into an exciting, action-packed musical full of great tunes and gunplay.
Picture of the week:
This from a story about a Chinese "army major" who spent two years scamming over $30,000 from some girls he dated. When police were called in to investigate a possible crime, the major's high-pitched voice and fair complexion drew suspicion. Soon, an even bigger scam was revealed – one that should come as no surprise to anyone seeing this picture.
Scare of the week: When we read the headline "Con-artist jailed for swindling pub customers" we thought for sure some British lawyers were coming, wagging a copy of our DVD "How to Scam Your Way to a Free Beer" in our direction. The story turned out to be a lot less exciting than that.
