Lies, at 24 frames a second

If you're in LA on Tuesday (1/22), check out F is for Fake, Orson Welles' final film. It's playing at the Hammer Museum, one night only. From the catalog:

Master trickster and self-described charlatan Orson Welles directs this duplicitous documentary, rife with movie-making sleight-of-hand, about the life of renowned art forger Elmyr de Hory and his equally devious biographer Clifford Irving. By the time the film is over, it is unclear who is fooling who and if there can ever be a single truth. Directed by Orson Welles, 1974. Running time 88 minutes; 35mm.

Here's the German trailer.

It's a fascinating exploration, especially considering the man began with a hoax of his own, the radio broadcast of War of the Worlds.
