Yeggnog

As you'll learn in the Grifter Glossary of our upcoming book, The Modern Con Man, Yegg was street slang for "low-level crook."

To find out about Muzzlers and Guzzlers, though, it's worth checking out Joe Coleman's Muzzlers, Guzzlers and Good Yeggs. He wrote and illustrated these stories of criminals, hobos, and psychos. Order now and you'll get it in time for Christmas!

Years ago, we had a nice, quiet backstage chat with Coleman moments before he walked out and lit the thick vest of fireworks he wore strapped to his chest. We will never forget that haunted look in his eyes - troubled, teasing, but also slightly bored - as he lit the first one, starting an explosive minute that riddled his body. And if you've seen his artwork, you've seen that look projected onto insane disturbing-yet-beautiful paintings. This tiny graphic novel is just another peek into the man's mind. Just be thankful that you, unlike Joe Coleman himself, can step away and escape from it.
